Comfortable and Confident in Our Decision

    Hi Mr. Neal,

My husband and I recently purchased a home in Canoe Creek.  I wanted to send this email to recognize our sales associate, Logan Clark and our Design Consultant, Sheri Roca.  We cannot say enough good things about both of them.

Logan was such a pleasure to work with him.  He was very nice, extremely knowledgeable and was willing to go out of his way to make sure we were happy with our decision to purchase a home from Neal Communities.  He spent a lot of time with us, answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable and confident in our decision to purchase our new home in Canoe Creek.  He was kind enough to offer his assistance at any time in the future if we ever need anything.  He was a pleasure to work with.

Our design consultant was Sheri Roca.  She is so creative and talented.  We started our design sessions just before the holidays.  The studio was very busy and my Mother was very ill, so it took us a very long time to finalize our selections but Sheri was always very pleasant, patient, understanding and tremendously helpful.  We purchased a Kiawah model and we did a lot of upgrades so it was very complicated and confusing.  There were so many details to think about and so many decisions to make and Sheri was so knowledgeable and helped us so much with our selections. She made the entire experience extremely pleasant.  We truly could not have done it without her help.

Your company is extremely fortunate to have Logan and Sheri as part of your organization and we hope that they get the recognition that they so richly deserve.

We are looking forward to our new home and being a part of the Neal Communities family.  It’s great to see all the wonderful things you’re doing in the Parrish area and the surrounding communities.

    Kindest regards,

    Bogie and Lin Winstead

  • 5 Ways to Reset Your Home for 2020

5 Ways to Reset Your Home for 2020

After all the holiday parties, unwrapping gifts and having loved ones over to visit, your house could probably use a good tidying up. Post-holiday clutter is very real, but that doesn’t mean you need to take weeks to get your home freshened up. Take down the lights and seasonal decorations and spruce up your home with these simple tips to reset your living spaces.

    Throw out expired products.

Take the plunge and purge out your kitchen pantry, medicine cabinet and bathroom drawers for any outdated items. It can be difficult to part with unfinished eye creams or lotions, but eventually they will begin to decompose, become less effective, and harbor potentially harmful bacteria. If products so much as feel or smell different than when you first used them, you’re better off pitching it just to be safe.

    Reorganize your daily used items.

Do you find yourself reaching around items to get to a product you use every day? If so, put those more frequently used items closer to your reach and either push lesser used ones to the back–or get rid of them completely if you’re not using them.

    Declutter drawers.

Everyone has that one drawer they regard as a “junk drawer” that’s compiled of all sorts of random things. Sort the drawer’s contents on a flat surface and rummage through to see if any items already have a designated spot in your home. If not, you know the drill; decide whether to keep or pitch depending on whether you use these items or not. Once you’ve tackled that beast, then you can move on to the other drawers throughout your home.

    Take out a donation bag.

If you feel like you have perfectly good items that are collecting dust, consider creating a donation pile. Inspect closets for under worn clothing or lightly used shoes to get the pile started. Unopened makeup, dental hygiene products and blankets are commonly overlooked but can be extremely useful to a family in need. When you’ve gone through every storage space, donate to a charitable organization that you see fit.

    Trade out decor.

Now comes the fun part! Swap out holiday-themed decorations for seasonal decor to align with the winter months. Rearrange your bed’s pillows, add a cozy throw blanket to the couch and scatter pine-scented candles throughout your home to fully embrace the season.

These small differences will be sure to make a huge difference in your house’s appearance, your daily routine and the overall feel of your home.

Watch This Home Be Built in Seconds

Mike Thomas, Purchasing Analyst here at Neal Communities recently moved into Indigo with his family where they built a Silver Sky 2 floor plan. This event was set into motion when a Wisconsin snowstorm nearly jeopardized the family’s annual vacation to Anna Maria Island – and introduced the idea of leaving the Badger State for somewhere with a little more sunshine.

During their last trip to Florida, they set aside a day to take a joyride through Lakewood Ranch and house hunt as they drove through the area’s neighborhoods. While it started out as a leisurely drive, it began to get more serious after seeing that these homes could potentially be a reality for Mike. Eventually, he got the whole family to make the move and they decided to rent for their first year living in Florida.

After they moved, Mike and his wife visited many different communities in the Lakewood Ranch area. He says that he began to notice minor but significant differences between the various builders and their communities.

“I like to think I have a keen eye for construction detail, and it was hard not to notice the quality craftsmanship and friendly, no pressure sales staff found at Neal Communities.”

Mike said that he’s always been fascinated by the building process and seeing projects come together visually. That’s what inspired him to document his own home’s progress, beginning by taking a single photo of the cleared out home site. Mike conveniently lived directly across the street from the home site, so every day he would stand in the same spot and capture a shot, or a couple, of the home as it was being built.

“I visited the site at least once a day, and sometimes even up to three times a day during the process. My goal was to get as many photos as possible so the time lapse would show all the steps involved in the creation of our home in a short amount of time.”

Using these photos, Mike made a time lapse that shows the house being built from the ground up. The video displays months of meticulous construction work in just seconds. See it below!

Mike said, “The video turned out better than expected, but the house turned out perfect! Every step along the way from sale, design, visits with the builder, closing and beyond went as smooth as we could have ever asked for. Now that we are all moved in, I have more time to enjoy all the small details that set Neal apart from other builders.”

We couldn’t be happier for Mike and his family and can’t stop watching the captivating time lapse that he created. If you’re interested in beginning your own home building journey, connect with us on our website to get started!

Neal Communities Celebrates 20 Years of Holiday Art Competitions with Local Elementary Schools

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Neal Communities, Southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, hosted its 20th annual My Favorite Home art contest on Wednesday, December 4.

Each year, the homebuilder donates $1,500 to a local elementary school and partners with the school’s art department to design the Neal Communities and Neal Signature Homes holiday cards. This year, the homebuilder partnered with Venice Elementary School.

Students from kindergarten to fifth grade used a variety of themes to create their own vision of their favorite home. Students created house boats, futuristic homes, their dream home design and more using a variety of art mediums according to their grade level.

“It was amazing to watch the students’ creative processes and listen to the great ideas they came up with, as each grade level took a slightly different take on their idea of a dream home,” said Heather Young, Venice Elementary School’s art teacher. “It was a challenge to choose just ten finalists from each grade level.”

“Each student did a fantastic job of bringing their vision of their favorite home to life in a very unique way,” said Pat Neal, Founder and Chairman of Neal Communities. “We’re happy to support the art curriculum for our local students through this annual contest.”

The Neal Communities $1,500 donation will benefit the school’s art department through supply purchases or curriculum supplements for the school year.

  • Ultimate Backyard Retreat Tips

    Ultimate Backyard Retreat Tips

It’s like a mini-vacation, but in your own backyard! Your style mixed with our expertise will have you getting the most out of your yard and home. We want to help you get the most out of the Florida lifestyle, so please take these tips into consideration when building your own piece of paradise!

    Spring for the Water Feature

If you’re building a pool, consider a water feature – or three.  Not only do they look nice and add a touch of glamour to a pool, water features keep your pool water moving, which helps fight off stagnation and sounds very relaxing as well!

    Don’t Dig Too Deep

Too many pool-buyers think they need a deep end with a diving board. The vast majority of your pool time will be spent in the shallow end, so don’t devote too much to deep waters.

    Materials Matter

Whatever style you pick, invest in high-quality lounge chairs. For example, if you like wood, try something like teak that can stand up to the Florida sun.

    Make It Movable

Chances are you’ll be your own pool attendant, so look for light-weight loungers. This way you can easily keep up with the sun as it moves. If you’re looking for something with 360 degree shade, try a cantilever outdoor umbrella.

    Keep Things in Arm’s Reach

The secret to being a grillmaster is staying organized and keeping things close at hand. If you don’t have good counter space around your grill, invest in a nice bar cart for your tools, spices and more.

Have a Seat, You Earned It

The other secret to manning the BBQ like a pro is keeping a comfy chair nearby. No one wants to be on their feet all day – especially a day off – so have somewhere to sit between burger flips.

    Comfort is King

Patio furniture comes in all shapes and sizes, so try before you buy to make sure you like the cushion depth, material and softness. After all, you’re the one who has to sit there.

    Versatility is Queen

For smaller spaces, think about a setup that you can easily reconfigure. That could mean a table with extendable leaves, or modular seating good for both lounging and dining. This lets you switch from conversation place to dining setup with no fuss.

    Even Florida Gets Chilly

Sure, Florida is known for warmth, but there are plenty of nights in Florida that qualify as fire pit nights. And nothing is cozier than sitting outside roasting marshmallows on a cool tropical evening.

    Think About Longevity

Fire pits can be metal, brick, stone and more. Whatever material you choose, make sure it is high-quality and made to last (it will be on fire, after all).  Keep in mind that cheaper metal fire pits are especially prone to rusting, and before you know it, the money you “saved” will be spent on a replacement.

And finally, we get to what’s really important – games! Not everyone swims or eats BBQ or likes to just sit and talk, but everyone loves a good game. Have a few go-to outdoor games that you can break out to get everyone involved in the fun, like:

    • Mini putting green
    • Giant game of jenga
    • Oversized checkers
    • Classic cornhole

Neal Communities Donates $3,355 to American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – October 22, 2019 – Neal Communities team members have raised $3,355 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an initiative of the American Cancer Society.

The Neal Communities team, Building Hope with Pink Pride, raised the funds in support of associates, family and friends who have been affected by cancer. The team was organized by Raylene Gaines, office manager at Charlene Neal PureStyle, a company within the Neal Communities umbrella.
